Sixty stoked for New Year’s show
December 27 2011
Melbourne rapper 360, hyped to be taking the mic on New Year’s Eve at the Falls Festival in Lorne.Australian hip-hop star 360 is just one of the epic acts headlining the Falls Festival this year, and having just returned from his sellout first headline tour, the lyrical master is hyped.
Out of Melbourne, 360 has spent almost a decade as one of the country’s favourite underground battle emcees, and with over 10,000 new fans on Facebook in the last two weeks, his star continues to soar. He told the Surf Coast Times last week that the audience can expect some special guests as he hits the Grand Theatre stage on New Year’s Eve in Lorne.
“It’s gonna be epic, the whole show is going to be hype,” he said.
“I’ve played a lot of festivals over the last three years, mainly with Pez and just recently doing my own thing. I prefer to play festivals. You can always feel that everyone is up for a good time, and playing to a loose festival crowd is mind-blowing.”
Writing from personal experience and everyday life, 360 has been extremely humbled by the response to his latest album Falling and Flying and how much support he has received.
“I’ve been getting an amazing reception, always a lot of love. Everyone is loving hip hop from Oz at the moment. I think it’s good.
“It’s especially great for artists like myself who are still coming up, the time is awesome.”
Dedicated to the cause, 360 only takes five days off in the year, hence his name.
“I’m just stoked it’s finally starting to really happen for me. I’ve been working on this for years and it’s finally starting to pay off. Thanks to everyone. I’m not taking anything for granted.”
Playing Falls on New Year’s Eve was one of his goals, and 360 said he was stoked to be playing at such a cool time (10-10:50pm).
“This is my first time at Falls, I’ve heard amazing things so I seriously cannot wait. I used to go to Lorne a fair bit and always loved it down there. Hopefully the weather is really flirting with us during Falls.”
If you missed out on tickets to Falls this year, you can catch 360 again soon, as he heads off on the recently announced Boys Like You Tour, setting down in Geelong at the Bended Elbow, Thursday March 8.
